Our Team

Frank McGinity, CPA
Managing Partner

Frank E. McGinity is a Certified Public Accountant, and founding partner in charge of the Santa Barbara office of McGinity and Nodar LLP. His clients include corporations, partnerships, fiduciaries and family groups involved in various industries and enterprises, primarily in real estate investment. Mr. McGinity is the asset manager, consultant and Trustee to four families. Duties include supervision of stock and bond portfolios, management of large apartments, and foundations. Frank is married with two children. He is the President of California Branch of the American Irish Historical Society (founded 1897). President of the Art Foundation of Santa Barbara and Board member of CAMA – Community Arts Music Association. He is a member of the Jonathan Club, Birnam Wood Golf Club and Santa Barbara Club and Director of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, Los Angeles. Frank received a BA degree from Holy Cross College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Rudy Nodar, CPA
Managing Partner

Rudy Nodar is a Certified Public Accountant, and the managing and founding partner of McGinity and Nodar LLP. Mr. Nodar provides financial and investment services to clients, including assistance in real estate investments and management. Clients include corporations, partnerships, fiduciaries and family groups involved in various industriesand enterprises. Prior to founding the firm in 1980, Mr. Nodar held financial positions with ITT and Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Nodar was with Arthur Anderson & Co., in the tax and small business department of the Los Angeles office and one year in Spain, auditing European and multinational, publicly traded companies. Mr. Nodar is married with two children. Mr. Nodar has served on the Board of WISE, a non-profit organization and the financial committee of his church. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Nodar attended Louisiana State University, where he earned a B.S. in accounting and an MBA in finance.

Brent Sweet, CPA
Principal

Brent Sweet is a Certified Public Accountant and a Principal with McGinity & Nodar LLP. Brent has nineteen years of public and private accounting experience. Brent provides tax and accounting services for a variety of clients including high net worth individuals and family partnerships, corporations and fiduciaries. Brent graduated from the University of California in Santa Barbara and was awarded the top student in their accounting program. Brent obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics. He began his accounting career with Arthur Andersen & Co. as a member of the Real Estate Services Group in their downtown Los Angeles office. After four years, Brent returned to Santa Barbara and worked for the public accounting firms of Damitz Brooks Nightingale Turner & Morrisset and Enrico & Associates, where he specialized in providing tax services to high net worth individuals, privately held businesses, and real estate and investment partnerships. Brent recently completed a three year tax consulting engagement with a major family owned corporation where he managed their corporate tax compliance and worked closely with their family office providing tax planning and transaction analysis. Brent enjoys fishing and spending time at his vacation home on the Deschutes River near Bend, Oregon. Brent is a member of the California Society of CPAs.

Stephanie F. Bezner, Esq

Stephanie F. Bezner, Esq. is Of Counsel in McGinity & Nodar LLP’s Los Angeles office. She has extensive experience in estate planning, trust administration, real estate, business, taxation, and non-profit organizations.
Stephanie received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Management from the University of California at Irvine in 2003, graduating with college honors. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2006, having obtained honors grades in Taxation, Real Estate Transactions, Real Estate Finance, Gifts, Wills and Trusts, and others. She became a member of the California State Bar Association, the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in the fall of 2006. Stephanie is an member of the South Bay Estate Planning Council and co-chairs the Professional Advisory Council for the Torrance Memorial Hospital Foundation. She is also active in the community, having served as Worthy Matron and Deputy Grand Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, as a member of the building committee of her church and on the 100th Anniversary Committee at the Midnight Mission. Stephanie is also an active volunteer at the Midnight Mission.

Leticia Murillo, EA

Leticia F. Murillo is an IRS enrolled agent. She has been with the company since 1991 with extensive experience in finance and taxation. She has worked in all areas of the practice. Prior to 1991, she held positions in commercial realty property management and in the banking industry. She received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a major in Banking and Finance from the College of the Holy Spirit, Manila Philippines.

Kate Hsu, CPA

Kate Hsu is a certified public accountant. She joined the firm in 2010 after working as a client accountant for TBWA\Chiat\Day for 2 years. She is a senior professional. She performs strategic tax planning, conducts tax research to support tax compliance as well as compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements. She is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Kate attended Santa Monica College and received a BA degree from National Taiwan N. University.

Gary Porter, EA

Gary Porter is an IRS enrolled agent. He has been with the company for more than 20 years. He assists in providing financial and taxation services to clients including high net worth individuals, real estate partnerships and fiduciary services. He held the position of controller in Alanmar Enterprises prior working with the company. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Illinois.
